Police: Lawn mower theft turns deadly when mower falls on man

HANAHAN, S.C. (WCIV) -- A man died early Tuesday morning after a lawn mower he was allegedly trying to steal fell on top of him, police confirmed.{}

According to Hanahan police officials, the incident happened around 5 a.m. off of North Rhett Avenue near Yeamans Hall Road. Police said the man, whose identity has not yet been released, was trying to load the lawn mower into a pickup truck when it fell on him.{}

Officers are still investigating the incident, police said.{}

Officials said a full police report would be available Wednesday.

Coroner Bill Sailsbury told ABC News 4 "the manner and cause of his death is still under investigation."
