2 arrests made in Staffordshire Drive robbery; 2 suspects remain on the loose

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- Officials with Charleston Police say two suspects have been arrested in a Staffordshire Drive armed robbery that occurred at 2 p.m. this afternoon. Two suspects remain on the loose Friday night.

Charles Francis with CPD says the victims were standing outside their residence when four men in an SUV pulled up and robbed them. Three of the suspects took the victims inside the house and took more money before driving away.

Francis says the men were seen driving into the city in a Chevy Trailblazer and abandoned the vehicle on Ashton Street.

Police searced the Gadsden Green area and shut down several streets including Hagood and Line, Allway and Norman, and Hagwood and Ashton.

Francis says the arrested suspects are 17-year-old D'Angelo Walker and 19-year-old Paul Levard Green.{} Walker is charged with{}possession of a handgun by someone under the age of 18, armed robbery, possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime, kidnapping and burglary 1st degree according to officials with CPD. Officials say Levard is charged with armed robbery and possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime. Both are being held at Al Cannon Detention Center.

Charles Francis says a third arrest was made in Friday's search. According to Francis, 36-year-old Torris Simmons was arrested on outstanding warrants for assault and battery 3rd degree and receiving stolen goods.

The Charleston County Sheriff's Department aided the search that ended at 6:30 p.m. Friday night.
