Deputies make arrest in $54000 steel theft


      JOHNS ISLAND, S.C. (WCIV) -- Charleston County deputies arrested a 63-year-old man on Thursday in connection to a steel theft at a North Charleston business.

      According to deputies, Robert McLeod Grant, of Johns Island, was charged with two counts of grand larceny and two counts of obtaining goods by false pretenses.

      Deputies say officers were sent to an Azalea Drive business on Dec. 14 to investigate a theft. People at the business said they saw a large flatbed truck loaded with metal parked behind the building. The truck quickly sped away and employees realized the store had been robbed.

      On Friday, deputies said they were also looking for Travis Nathaniel Green in connection to the same case. Green currently has active arrest warrants for grand larceny and obtaining goods by false pretenses.{}
