Police make arrest in Norman St. murder
CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- Officials with the Charleston Police Department confirmed an arrest has been made in a 2010 murder case.
Darnell Seagers, 21, of 2799 Ranger Drive has been charged with murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime.
Officers Monica Anderson and Trent Weathers were on patrol in the Gadsden Green public housing complex when they took Seagers into custody.
Officers responded to 42 Norman St. on August 28, 2010 where they found 20-year-old Travis Anderson with a gunshot wound. Officials say he was transported to MUSC where he later died.
It was around 6:30 a.m. when those living in the area of Norman Street heard the gunshots.
The Norman Street murder marked the seventh for 2010 -- the fourth in a three week period.
