Police make arrest in West Ashley burglary

WEST ASHLEY, S.C. (WCIV) -- A North Charleston man was arrested Monday for a July 30 burglary in West Ashley.

According to Charleston police, 19-year-old Phillip Daniel Jewell II was charged with second-degree burglary and grand larceny. He was out on bond for another crime at the time of the burglary, police said.

Police say someone kicked in the door of a home on Madagascar Court in West Ashley, stole a laptop, two digital cameras, an iPad and some jewelry.

Jewell was being held in the Al Cannon Detention Center.

Police are still investigating the incident.
