SUMMERVILLE, S.C. (WCIV) - A CVS pharmacy in Summerville was robbed by a man wielding a hammer early Tuesday morning, police said.
According to Summerville police, the suspect, described as a 5-foot, 6-inch tall slender white man with his face covered entered the CVS shortly before 6 a.m.
He reportedly went to the pharmacy, jumped the counter and demanded Oxycontin. Staff members gave him some of the supply.
There were no customers in the store at the time of the robbery, police said, adding that no one was injured in the incident.
Police are also investigating a similar robbery that happened March 21 at the Walgreen's. Police said they have not connected the two crimes, but are investigating the possibility.
