CCSO: Shots fired for 'snitching'

McCLELLANVILLE, S.C. (WCIV) -- Deputies responded to Old Collins Creek Road Wednesday night for reports of shots fired into a home.

According to the incident report, deputies were told on the way to the scene that the suspect was in a gray Isuzu Rodeo that had crashed into a ditch not far from the shooting location.

They found the vehicle in the ditch but it was empty.

When deputies got to the house, they found five victims including two children, a 7-year-old girl and 14-month old boy.

The victims told deputies they were in the living room when someone started shooting into their home, breaking the front window. They said when they saw a bullet hit the living room wall, they dove to the floor to protect the children.

The victims said they saw a gray SUV drive away afterwards. Investigators believe suspects are 32-year-old Deon Sinclair Geathers and 27-year-old Trevor Tramayne Gibbs. Witnesses told deputies the gray SUV is usually driven by Geathers.

The victims told deputies they think the shooting occurred because one of them "snitched" on a co-defendant named Nigel Omar Vanderhorst in a pending case.
