Police: Man stole, pawned parking cop's GPS unit

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) - Police are looking for a NorthCharleston man after a stolen City of Charleston GPS unit surfaced at adowntown Charleston pawn shop.

According to police, the TomTom GPS device was stolen lastweek from a parking enforcement officer's car and pawned at the Money Man pawnshop on Meeting Street.

Management at the store showed officers the pawn slip,showing the offender's name - Demetrius Wells. The slip showed that Wellsreceived $20 for the stolen GPS unit.

Police obtained two warrants for Wells' arrest, one forreceiving stolen goods and another for larceny by false pretense. Police saidWells is known to spend time in downtown Charlestonand on Dorchester Roadin North Charleston.
