Police: Medical issue caused driver to drive into Wendy's
MT. PLEASANT, S.C. (WCIV) -- Mt. Pleasant police responded to a car hitting a building call Monday morning.
According to Mount Pleasant Police Department spokesperson Maj. Stan Gragg, the 33-year-old driver had a medical issue that caused her to drive into the side of the Wendy's restaurant on Johnnie Dodds Boulevard and Houston Northcutt.
According to the registration number on the car, it is used for transporting non-emergency medical patients to appointment. According to the Office of Regulatory Staff, the car was most recently registered to Meditam in March of last year.
Gragg says the driver was taken to the hospital by EMS.
