Police: North Charleston man burglarized Charleston Place hotel

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) - Charleston police arrested a North Charleston man Thursday and charged him with burglarizing a Charleston Place hotel room on Jan. 27.

Police say they were notified by a person staying at the hotel that someone had entered a room and stolen jewelry and an iPad. The jewelry has been recovered, police said Thursday.

According to police, 35-year-old John C. Coakley was charges with first-degree burglary.

He is being held in the Al Cannon Detention Center.
