Police: North Charleston shooting was self-inflicted
NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- A teen was injured in a shooting Monday afternoon, but police say the wound was self-inflicted.
According to North Charleston police, officers responded to Big Ben Court to reports a 15-year-old victim had been shot. Once they arrived, they found the teen had shot himself.
Officials found the gun nearby and the teen was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. The injury was described as non-life-threatening, officials said.
Police are still looking into the shooting to figure out how it happened.
