Police release sketch of man wanted in home invasion
CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- The Charleston Police Department has released a sketch of a man they believe robbed a home on Treescape Drive in West Ashley last week.
According to the police report, the incident happened on November 2 when officers responded to an apartment on Treescape Drive. A witness said the 16-year-old victim was in her home with two other children.
Police found the kids, ages 8 and 6-years-old, in the apartment with the victim who was distressed and crying.
The victim said someone had knocked on her door and when she looked through the peephole, she didn't recognize him. She said she opened the door anyway and that's when several men busted in, at least two of them armed with handguns.
Police said several items were taken, including a laptop and iPhone 4S.
The suspect is described as a black man in his late 20's or early 30's with a medium complexion with a stocky build. He's estimated to be 5'8" tall and weigh between 180 and 200 pounds. He has a short, wavy hair style and smooth skin.
The other suspects are described as black men in their late teens to mid-20s, all wearing black clothing.
