Police: Shots fired in North Charleston

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV)-- Police in North Charleston are still searching for two{}suspects after shots rang out inside an apartment complex.

Officers responded to the St. James Crossing Apartments at 6520 Dorchester Road around midnight Monday for a report of shots fired in the area.{}

When they arrived on scene, officers said they met with a victim who told them he had just dropped off his cousin and was headed back to a nearby apartment.

The victim stated he exited his car and left it running, when he{}watched{}two black male suspects{}attempting to get into{}the{}vehicle.

The{}victim told police he{}walked outside and pointed his handgun at the passenger side door of the car.

Police say that is when{}one of the suspects inside the car{}pointed a gun at the victim through the windshield.

At that point the{}man fired several shots at the car sending the two men screeching out of the apartment complex.

The victim's vehicle was later{}located in Moncks Corner abandoned. No arrests have been made and no word yet on any injuries.
