Police: Victim hides in closet while men rob her home

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- Charleston Police arrested three men Thursday morning for burglarizing a West Chase Drive apartment.

According to police, the victim heard a knock on her door around 11 p.m. Wednesday night. She said she didn't recognize the man she saw when she looked through the peep hole so she didn't respond.

She told police she then heard footsteps on the stairs outside and the sound of glass breaking in her front bedroom. She said that's when she hid in the closet and called police.

While she was hiding in the closet, she saw and heard three men robbing her home and gave a description to police when they arrived.

All three men were arrested in the West Chase Apartments complex.Ishmel Lemon, 27, and 21-year-old Jordan Brown are charged with burglary in the first degree.Antwain Champaigne, 27, is charged with burglary in the first degree, simple possession of marijuana and possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime.
