CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- High School football practice is underway and SCISA playoff contender Porter Gaud was back on the field for the first time late Thursday afternoon.
Head Coach Rick Reetz lost a lot of players to graduation, but likes what he has coming back.
"We do have Michael Preddy, who has committed to Georgia Tech, and Phillips Marshall leading the line," said Reetz. "Foster Moe and Rob Thomas leading the receivers, and a lot of good young guys filling in. I think we'll be alright and a good team to watch this season."
Big Michael Preddy will be counted on heavily to go both ways this season, and lead a very young Cyclone team into the post season.
"I feel like we have a lot of good pieces from different schools this year," says Preddy. "We brought in a quarterback from Ashley Ridge, and I feel like we can make a run in the playoffs."
Porter Gaud is set to open the season at Ben Lippen High School on Aug. 30.
