YEMASSEE, S.C. (AP) - Since people in a small South Carolina town couldn't get to the post office, the Postal Service brought the post office to them.
The Beaufort Gazette reports a mobile post office like those used after disasters such as Hurricane Katrina is now in the Town Hall parking lot in Yemassee.
The town post office closed last December because of problems with mold in the building. The Postal Service has been looking for another location. People have had to drive 5 miles to the post office in Early Branch.
Mayor J.L. Goodwin says that just didn't work in a community with a lot of elderly people with no transportation.
