CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- A woman, five-months pregnant, is facing assault and battery charges after police say she attacked a man in downtown Charleston.
According to police reports, the victim told police he was standing at the corner of Hanover Street and Reid Street when 44-year-old Tara Ferrell walked up to him. The victim says he placed his hand on her shoulder and asked her how the baby was doing.
The report says Ferrell told the victim "Don't put your hands on me" before she got into a fight with the victim, picked up a wine bottle, broke it and "cut the victim on the left wrist then the right wrist" before walking off.
Police say the two have known each other for years and the victim admitted to police that he was drunk when the fight broke out.
The victim got stitches at Roper St. Francis and was released.
