Project Cool Breeze to hand out AC units

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- Project Cool Breeze will be holding its first distribution day of the summer on Wednesday.

The local group makes it their goal{}to keep senior citizens cool all summer long. The non-profit, founded by State Representative Wendell Gilliard, donates AC units and fans to people above the age of 60.

Anyone who registered for a free fan will be contacted by a Project Cool Breeze member.

They will be out at the Lowe's on Glen McConnell Parkway from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. on July 3.

Another distribution day is scheduled on July 20 during Police Community Unity Day.

Project Cool Breeze has been giving fans and air conditioners to senior citizens throughout the Tricounty area since 1999.
