Property taxes in N Charleston likely to rise

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) - If you live in North Charleston your property taxes are most likely going to go up this year. {}Mayor Keith Summey is proposing a small increase to cover rising city expenses. {}Those expenses would cover things like school resource officers and fleet vehicles. {}"When you've got the growth occurring we have to keep up with it," said Summey. "Next year, and the following year after that, we don't see any need for a tax increase."{}If approved, the city's budget will increase by $4.8 million. {}A family living in a $100,000 home would pay an extra 33 cents a month of taxes. {}{}
