Public workshop planned for Stony River Park ideas

      JOHNS ISLAND, S.C. (WCIV) --{} The Charleston County Parks And Recreation Commission is asking for input on a green space that's just waiting to be used.A meeting will be held Tuesday where residents can hear about plans for the park and make their own suggestions. The CCPRC is hosting a public workshop from 6 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at St. Johns High School on Johns Island. {}The focus is the future Stono River County Park, a portion of land near the Limehouse Bridge along the Stono River between West Ashley and Johns Island.{} Parts of the land are zoned for conservation while others are restricted to recreational use.The 85.5 acre site is said to offer stunning views, perfect for kayaking, bird watching and other recreational activities.
