      SUMMERVILLE, S.C. (WCIV) -- Ten people were displaced after an apartment fire damaged the homes of seven Summerville families on Thursday afternoon.{}

      Rescue crews said the fire may have started in a wall of the Somerset Apartment complex off Boone Hill Road. Red Cross officials said they responded to help the displaced tenants.

      "Right now we are working to evaluate the needs of 9 adults and three children and we are ready to provide them with help with lodging or financial assistance for food or clothing, whatever they might need," said Lisa Quick with the American Red Cross.

      The Summerville Fire Department received calls that there was smoke in the hallway of Building L. According to battalion chief Rodney Profit, fire was found inside the wall of one of the apartments.

      He says the building suffered a lot of heat damage, but the building was not a total loss.

      Profit said no on was injured.
