SCFC ends Red Flag Alert in SC

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WCIV) -- The Red Flag Fire Alert put into place Saturday morning was lifted Sunday by the South Carolina Forestry Commission.

Fire managers ended the alert based on improving weather conditions including calmer winds and higher relative humidity.Officials said the Southeast is still in the midst of wildfire season and people should still be cautious when burning outdoors.{}During the Red Flag Alert, SCFC personnel responded to 51 fires statewide.{} No injuries were reported.{}SC law requires anyone planning to conduct debris burns or controlled burns to notify the Commission in advance.
