Religious dispute leads to stabbing, say police

WEST ASHLEY, S.C. (WCIV) -- A woman became so enraged on Saturday during an argument over God and spirituality that she stabbed a man, police said.

According to Charleston police, a man told officers he and Megan Gordon were arguing about God when she got upset and "stormed off." The victim said he went into a bathroom of a Hazelwood Drive apartment to pack his things when Gordon attacked him, the report states.

Gordon was allegedly wielding two knives and came at the man, swinging. The man was cut three times during the altercation, the report states.

When police arrived, they found Gordon being restrained by the man. A knife was in one of her hands. The man was calling out for police: "Help me! I'm holding her hands; help me!"

Police say Gordon and the victim have three kids in common, all under the age of 3. Gordon's 10-year-old was also at the apartment, police said.

All of the children were handed over to a neighbor for care.

Gordon was arrested and charged with criminal domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature. She is being held in the Charleston County Detention Center.
