Report: High speed chase sends child and deputies to hospital, suspect arrested

SUMMERVILLE, S.C. (WCIV) -- Dorchester county deputies arrested a man Thursday after he led them on a high speed chase, hit several sheriff's cruisers and crashed into a mobile home, all with two children in the car.Shawdell McClenton, 34, was wanted for felony burglary in Charleston County. Authorities say they tried to serve a warrant and that's when he failed to pull over, leading deputies, State Law Enforcement officials and U.S. Marshals on a chase through Summerville.Officials say after McClenton rammed several deputies' cars with his SUV and crashed into a mobile home in Sweats Mobile Home Park, he was arrested and charged.On top of the thousands dollars in damage, two officers reportedly suffered minor injures and one of the children in the car was treated for a broken arm.
