Report: Man checks out hotel room, steals TV
NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- North Charleston Police are investigating a theft that happened at the Arco Lane Quality Suites Tuesday morning.
According to the report, hotel management said a white male came to the desk saying he was from Rock Hill and was in town for a job that would keep here for about a month. He asked if he could see one of the rooms before he decided to stay there.
An employee gave him a room key which the man did not return.
A housekeeper told police the bed in the room he visited was disturbed and the TV was gone.
Police viewed security footage and say they saw the man drive up in a small green or blue four-door Ford or Nissan. They said the man was only there for about six minutes.
A flyer distributed by hotel management says the employee "neglected to get a copy of his I.D." and claims they "have had several (TVs) to go missing and so have the neighboring hotels."
Management says the man unmade the bed, took a sheet and wrapped it around the TV before walking off with it.
A spokesperson with NCPD said he did not have any other reports of theft from the nearby hotels.
If anyone has any information on this or any other crime they are asked to call Crime Stoppers at 554-1111.
