Report: Mobile home park owner holds burglar at gunpoint

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- The owner of a mobile home park held a burglar at gunpoint until officers arrived, said officials with the North Charleston Police Department.Officials said Jerome Sprague, 23, of North Charleston, climbed in a rear bedroom window of a mobile home on Tipson Street Thursday morning.According to a police report, the park's owner watched Sprague break into the home and went to his truck to get a pistol.The owner pointed his pistol at Sprague and demanded he climb back out the window, the report states. Officials said when they arrived, Sprague was on the ground in handcuffs, which the owner had placed him in.According to the report, the owner said there had been recent property crimes in the mobile home park.The renters of the mobile home were not there at work at the time of the incident, officials said.Sprague was charged with second degree burglary.

He is being held in the Al Cannon Detention Center.
