Report: Suspect counts down robbery, apologizes for stealing drugs

SUMMERVILLE, S.C. (WCIV) -- Summerville police responded to the Walgreens on North Main Street around 6:30 Tuesday night for reports of a robbery.

According to the police report, the suspect walked into the store's bathroom, emerged about two minutes later and headed to the pharmacy.

There, witnesses say he held his hand in his pocket as if he had a weapon and told the pharmacist "I'm sorry to do this to you but you have two minutes to give Opana and Oxycodone." He then started counting down from two minutes out loud.

The report says the suspect was at the 30 second mark when the drugs were handed to him. The pharmacist told police he gave him open bottles of 30mg Oxycodone (27 tablets), 20mg Oxycodone (27 tablets) and 5mg Opana (10 tablets).

The suspect reportedly said he was "real sorry" as he left the building.

The suspect is described as being a light-skinned black male wearing a black Planet Fitness shirt and dark shorts with white stripes down the sides.

He was seen walking towards Famularis pizzeria down Bear Island Road towards Sheep Island Road.
