CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- A Charleston woman was sent to jail early Christmas Day after police say she stabbed a man with a ceramic squirrel.
Officers were sent to a Clifton Street home on Christmas Day after receiving reports of a domestic dispute, according to a report. When they arrived the officers found a man who had at least two cuts to his head and a lot of blood on his face, chest and arm.
The report states the victim took off his shirt to reveal a larger cut across his chest.
When officers questioned Helen Williams, she said nothing happened, the man just fell and cut himself. However, the report states that Williams was also covered in blood. She told the officers that the blood was not the victim's, that it had been there.
The victim then told officers that he had gone to the store earlier in the evening to buy beer for Williams and himself, but being Christmas Eve, most stores had closed hours before he left on his trip. When he returned, the report states, he tried to make a sandwich but Williams became enraged at the lack of beer and stabbed him with a ceramic squirrel.
The man told officers he ran across the street to a neighbor's home to call 911.
Williams was arrested and taken the Charleston County Detention Center. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Williams' bond was set at $10,000.
