Reports: Man stole $6,100 worth of firearms from home

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- A Johns Island man was arrested and charged after he stole more than $9,000 worth of firearms, cash and other items from a Charleston home, said officials with the Charleston County Sheriff's Office.Trey Corbin Pittman, 25, is charged with first degree burglary.According to a police report, a man returned to his home on Sterling Drive on Thursday and found someone had broken in.He called his father who also lives at the home and his father said many firearms had been taken from the residence, officials said.Officials said it looked like Pittman broke in through a back window leading into the father's bedroom.Pittman is accused of stealing $9,330 worth of items from the home including $6,100 worth of firearms and $3,000 in cash and coins. According to the police report, Pittman also stole vehicle titles, credit and debit cards, and a briefcase.
