WASHINGTON (WCIV) -- As polls across the state closed Tuesday night, the Republican Governor's Association quickly issued a statement congratulating Gov. Nikki Haley on her primary win.
Unfortunately, Haley did not have a primary opponent and is currently working on her November race against Sen. Vincent Sheheen.
But that didn't stop RGA Chairman and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie from singing her praises.
"Haley is getting the job done in South Carolina and her leadership is making a clear difference in the direction of the state," said RGA Chairman Chris Christie. "In Governor Haley's South Carolina, more people are working than ever in the history of the state, unemployment is at its lowest point since 2001, and businesses looking for a place to invest and succeed are eager to put down roots in the low-tax, growth-oriented Palmetto State. As Governor Haley often puts it, it's a great day in South Carolina, and the Republican Governors Association is proud to support her re-election campaign."
