NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- Two thousand more dollars have been added to the Crime Stoppers reward fund to find Allison Griffor's killer.{} The total reward is now up to $4,000, thanks to Friday's donation, a local businessman putting up $1,000 and the initial $1,000 put up by Crime Stoppers.

The 5-year-old girl was shot in the head during an attempted home invasion in October.{} The Charleston County Sheriff's Office is handling the case, and Cpl. Fred Bowie with Crime Stoppers said the case is actively under investigation.

"They have leads," Bowie said. "They're following down the leads right now. Basically, we need that one piece of the puzzle that will sort of help solve this and will sort of tie some of the things the county already knows together for them to lead to an arrest in this case."

Bowie acknowledged that times are tough and that almost everybody could use a little extra cash. That's why he said he's hoping this money will be the{}incentive someone needs to come forward.

"We have a method to get you that money. You won't sign anything, you won't produce any identification. The money will be there and it will be paid in cash."

If you have any information in this case, you're urged to contact Crime Stoppers at 554-1111.{} If you don't want to call, you can submit tips online, just click here.{} Tipsters will remain anonymous.
