Richland County hosting officer training on gangs
COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- Sheriff's deputies in Richland County are meeting this week with other law officers to talk about some of the best ways to combat gangs.
National District Attorney's Association director Brent Berkley speaks Friday to members of Richland County's Gang Task Force. Other agencies taking part in the discussion include the Richland County Solicitor's Office and the South Carolina Attorney General's Office.
Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott says he strives to find new and innovative ways to improve his department's anti-gang efforts.
