Riverdogs add gluten-free beer, snacks to stadium menus

CHARLESTON, S.C. (DOGS) - The Charleston RiverDogs' food and beverage division always has the fans' tastes, desires and trends in mind.{} That initiative now includes gluten-free beer and snacks.

According to Josh Shea, the RiverDogs' first-year food & beverage director, the club's newest effort will now feature two beers -- Rebridge Lager and Crispin Cider - that are gluten-free.{} Rebridge Lager is made with sorghum while Crispin Cider is made with only fruit.

Additionally, the RiverDogs will offer gluten-free Snyder individual pretzel sticks and Nicole's Nutty Goodness snack bars.

The gluten-free beers will be sold only at the Beer Garden while the snacks will be located at Scoops.

According to Shea, signage at both sites will describe the gluten-free products and information will be at Guest Services for fan use.

A gluten-free diet can have a variety of health benefits, such as improving cholesterol levels, promoting digestive health, and increasing energy levels, if one has a gluten intolerance.

The RiverDogs return home on Thursday, May 23, for a quick four-game series against the rival Greenville Drive.
