RiverDogs return home to celebrate HOPE Week

CHARLESTON, S.C. (DOGS) - The Charleston RiverDogs return home to Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park on Tuesday, July 9, to start a seven-game homestand after a quick and successful four day road trip to Augusta.

Charleston welcomes the Greenville Drive and the Augusta GreenJackets to The Joe and looks to make a northward move up the tight South Atlantic League standings in the second half. Charleston is 10-11 against the Greenville Drive and 8-6 against the Augusta GreenJackets this season.


Tuesday, July 9, 7:05 pm: Healthy Challenge Tuesday / Two-for-$20 Date Night / HOPE Week: The RiverDogs team with MUSC Wellness Center to promote healthy lifestyle choices. Each Tuesday features a healthy menu item and lifestyle tips throughout the game. The new 2-for-$20 Date Night includes two tickets, two slices of pizza, two Pepsis and one bag of popcorn all for $20. Also, local Italian restaurant{}La Fontana presents the "Lucky Couple of the Game" with one fortunate pair selected at random to win a{}candlelit dinner. The restaurant brings in two specialty dishes and the couple will enjoy that dinner in a private seating arrangement down the right field line while enjoying the game.{}HOPE Week presented by Lucey Mortgage kicks off with us partnering with the American Lung Association.{}

Wednesday, July 10, 7:05 pm: Senior Wednesday / Gallo/Barefoot Wine Night / HOPE Week:{} It's another Senior Wednesday presented by AAA Carolinas. All seniors (65+) who enter the gates before 7pm will get a free hot dog, Pepsi and bag of chips. Show your AAA card at the box office to buy one ticket and get one ticket free! It's also Gallo/Barefoot Wine Night at The Joe. It is the second day of HOPE Week where we partner with Lowcountry Equine-Assisted Psychotherapy (LEAP).

Thursday, July 11, 7:05 pm:{}Thirsty Thursday / Gildan Bachelor Auction / Denny McLain Appearance / HOPE Week: Enjoy the best Happy Hour in the Lowcountry as DJ Natty Heavy spins the tunes in the Ashley View Pub with $1 drafts for the always-popular Budweiser Thirsty Thursday. There will be a Bachelor Auction in Murray's Mezzanine where four lucky bachelors will be auctioned off for charity. It is the third night of HOPE Week where we partner with American Cancer Society and Hope Lodge. Plus, Denny McLain, baseball's last 30-game winner, returns to The Joe and will sign autographs.

Friday, July 12, 7:05 pm: General Dynamic Land Systems-Force Protection Red Shirt Friday / Piggly Wiggly Postgame Fireworks / Miller/Coors Aluminum Pint Nite / HOPE Week:{}It will be another Red Shirt Friday as fans who wear red to the box office can save $1 off the price of admission OR donate that dollar to local charity Canines for Veterans. "Titus the Wonder Dog" will be on hand to show off his batboy skills and tricks during the game. After the contest, we will light up the sky over the scenic Ashley River with another Piggly Wiggly Postgame Fireworks show. It's also a Miller/Coors Aluminum Pint Nite as fans can enjoy $2 specials on aluminum pints. It is the fourth night of HOPE Week, where this time we partner with FamilyCorps.

Saturday, July 13, 6:05 pm: Bill Murray T-Shirt Giveaway / Military Appreciation Night / Craft Beer / Blood Alliance Blood Drive / HOPE Week: The first 1,000 fans through the gates will receive a special Bill Murray t-shirt. There will be a Blood Alliance Blood Drive in the parking lot from 4:30pm-6:30pm where fans can receive a four-pack of RiverDogs tickets for donating always needed blood. All active and retired military personnel and their families will be admitted free with ID. We will also be having an Army enlistment ceremony on the field before the game. HOPE Week concludes as we partner with Dragon Boat Charleston for the final day of the fantastic five-day event.

Sunday, July 14, 5:05 pm:{}{}Kids Club Sunday / Denny McLain Appearance:{}It is another Charleston County Parks and Recreation Commission and Crews Subaru Kids Club Sunday as there will be FREE PARKING, members of the Kid's Club will get FREE entry to the game and kids will eat for FREE as well (kids 12 & under will receive a coupon for a hot dog, Pepsi and chips). Denny McLain, baseball's last 30 game winner, will be back at The Joe to sign autographs for the second time of the homestand.

Monday, July 15, 7:05 pm:{}{}Dogs With a Cause: Children's Museum of the Lowcountry / Dollar Dogs & Beers: Dogs With a Cause in coordination with the Children's Museum of the Lowcountry. Head up to the Ashley View Pub for $1 hot dogs and $1 draft beers of always-smooth Keystone Light.
