Riverdogs to host craft beer, kickball weekend at The Joe

CHARLESTON, S.C. - The Charleston RiverDogs will join in the celebration of Charleston Beer Week's festivities by hosting a special Craft Beer & Brewers Kickball Tournament on April 22 from 6-10 p.m. at Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park.

Though the RiverDogs will not be playing at The Joe that night, fans and participants will create their own fun by playing kickball on the manicured Riley Park field.

Each kickball team will represent a featured craft beer whose $4 pints will be available in the Beer Garden.{} Participating breweries include SweetWater, Terrapin, Total Beverage Solutions, Frothy Beard, Foothills, RJ Rockers, Sam Adams and Laganita's.{}

"This is an exclusive opportunity to be down on the field to show off your kickball skills," said Melissa Azevado, the RiverDogs' Director of Special Events.{}

People can register to play kickball through{} The cost to play is $10 per person (includes a t-shirt) or $5 to be a spectator.{} One must be 21-over in order to enter the park.

Entertainment will be provided by DJ Natty Heavy, who spins the discs for the RiverDogs' regular Thirsty Thursdays, and food will be available for purchase in the main concourse at Joe's Bar & Grill.
