Robbery attempt, robbery reported in Mt. P just hours apart

MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (WCIV) -- Police in Mount Pleasant are investigating separate incidents in which a woman was threatened at gunpoint and a gas station was robbed.

Officers were first called to Kangaroo Express, 1401 Joe Rouse Road, just after midnight Oct. 19, where a store employee reported being robbed at gunpoint by a man wearing a red bandana over his face.

The suspect - described in a police report as a black man wearing a dark shirt - took approximately $100 from the business, investigators said. The suspect pointed a gun at the employee, police said.

Just after 11 p.m. Oct. 19, a woman reported being approached by two men in masks - one was wearing a red bandana - at Walmart, 1481 Highway 17.

The gun was pointed at her, the victim told police, and she froze. At that point, according to a police report, the two men left the area.

Nothing was taken from the victim.

Mount Pleasant police said in the report that surveillance video from Walmart shows the two men approaching the drivers-side door of the victim's car.
