JOHNS ISLAND, S.C. (WCIV) -- Rural Mission, a group that works to strengthen fragile, Sea Island houses one plank, nail, floor and roof at a time, needs your help.

The project requests volunteer groups to provide monetary resources, love, respect and sensitivity to the plight of families in need. The project also requires professional skilled construction group leaders and construction transportation vehicles to accomplish project objectives.

Volunteers must be at least 14 years old to work on construction sites.{} Teens between the ages of 14 and 17 must have written permission from a guardian to participate the program.

The Work Camp project not only transforms the lives of families but also the lives of volunteers. Groups come from across the country for one week a year. Many colleges and universities use the Work Camp project to instill a sense of humanity and philanthropy through an educational, enriching experience.
