COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - South Carolina officials hope to assess the state's water.
Officials with the Department of Health and Environmental Control and the Department of Natural Resources said Friday they would send a request for contractors to bid on doing a statewide water assessment.
The directors of both agencies say the information is necessary so that South Carolina can make better decisions on how to handle its resources.
Clemson University also is helping with the project.Copyright 2014 The Associated Press. All rights reserved. This material may not be published, broadcast, rewritten or redistributed.
