CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) - The Veterans Affairs Administration is awarding $2 million to seven counties in the South Carolina Lowcountry to assist homeless veterans.
Secretary of Veterans Affairs Robert McDonald announced Friday the money will go to Berkley, Charleston, Dorchester and Beaufort counties. The money will also help veterans in Hampton, Jasper and Colleton counties.
The money will serve veteran families who are working with Crisis Ministries, one of more than 300 community agencies nationwide that works with a VA program called Supportive Services for Veteran Families.
