COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson is taking the helm of an organization that works to elect more Republicans as state attorneys general across the country.
But the first-term prosecutor says he's also looking forward to working with Democrats on some issues.
Earlier this month, Wilson took the helm of the Republican Attorneys General Association. Over the next year, he will be campaigning on behalf of GOP prosecutors across the country as they seek re-election.
Wilson says he and other Republicans are concerned about federal government growth. But he says he also knows the value of working with his Democratic counterparts on issues like public safety and human trafficking.
Wilson is also seeking re-election next year.
