COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- South Carolina will soon know if the state's unemployment rate is continuing to fall.
The Department of Employment and Workforce is expected to release the state's rate for December on Tuesday morning.
In November, South Carolina's jobless rate was 7.1 percent. That was the second month in a row that state unemployment had dipped to a five-year low.
That month also marked the closest that South Carolina unemployment had been to the national rate, which at that time was 7 percent, in more than a decade.
