SC Truthful Tuesday rally heads inside Statehouse
COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- A group of protesters who want South Carolina to do more to provide health care to the poor is bringing its rally inside the Statehouse.
This week's Truthful Tuesday protest will take place at 12:30 p.m. outside the governor's office. About a half-dozen people will talk about how they have struggled to pay for health insurance or how the new federal health care law has helped them get coverage.
South Carolina's Republican dominated Legislature has been adamantly against the new health care law and refused federal money to expand Medicaid.
After the rally outside the governor's office, protesters plan to go upstairs and talk to their legislators.
The first Truthful Tuesday rally brought several hundred people to the Statehouse to protest what they say is social inequality in South Carolina.
