SCE&G linemen shave heads for 6-year-old with leukemia

      MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (WCIV) - SCE&G coworkers andfriends shaved their heads today in support of a little girl named Emma.

      Emma Bostian is the 6-year-old daughter of SCE&G linemanThad Bostian, and she was diagnosed with leukemia in October. Since then, Emmahas undergone treatments and lost her hair.

      So, to show support, her dad and several of his coworkersand supervisors shaved their heads on Friday. Thad Bostian was moved by theshow of support.

      "It makes me happy to know that there's people out therethat are willing to do stuff for my family," he said.

      One of the linemen who ditched his 'do for Emma said thegroup may work together, but it's more like a family.

      "We are a tight-knit group and we thought that Emma was aninspiration to us to see her going through the treatment and what she's goingthrough," said Joe Griffin, an SCE&G line supervisor. "If she can be asbubbly and as active as she is, we wanted to be just like her."

      That Bostian said they talked about shaving their headsafter the diagnosis in October, but it really came together when Emma's hairstarted falling out.{}
