COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - Longtime South Carolina track coach Curtis Frye will lead Team USA men's team at the World University Games next month in Russia.

USA Track and Field announced Frye's appointment this week. The games will take play in Kazan, Russia, from July 6th through the 16th.

Frye becomes the third South Carolina coach headed to the World University Games as part of Team USA. Gamecocks swimming and diving coach McGee Moody is part of the men's swim team staff headed by Mike Bottom of Michigan.

Frye is also part of the U.S. men's track staff for the World Outdoor Championships in Moscow later this summer. Frye will work with sprinters and hurdlers.
