NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- A longshoreman was injured at the container yard of the North Charleston Terminal after a shipping container fell and struck the yard truck he was driving, according to officials.
Allison Skipper with the South Carolina State Ports Authority said the longshoreman was taken to MUSC after the accident happened around 9:30 Monday morning. The container also struck the port's gantry crane.
She said he was complaining of back and neck pain. Don Lundy with Charleston EMS said the 63-year-old male was transported in stable condition.
