Scuba Claus takes dip at SC Aquarium

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- From the streets of New York on Thanksgiving to the tanks of the South Carolina Aquarium, Santa Claus is everywhere.

Scuba Santa on Friday morning ditched his reindeer to hang out with 750 marine animals in the aquarium's great ocean tank.

Throughout the holiday season, St. Nick will perform every day at 11 a.m.

"Kids get really excited they love giving high 5's to Scuba Clause and hanging out and taking pictures with this big old guy who they are used to seeing in a totally different context.{} So it's pretty cool," said Drew Heyward, the education program instructor at the aquarium.

For those who do visit the aquarium this holiday season, be on the lookout for the "Shark on the Shelf." Every day, the shark, named Finzy, will move to different hiding spots around the aquarium.

Find him and win a prize.

Scuba Claus will swim until Dec. 26.
