CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- Investigators plan to search an area in Easley Saturday for evidence in the case of a woman missing since March.
Gayle McCaffrey was reported missing March 18 from her home by her husband, Robert McCaffrey. Her husband told investigators he last saw his wife a day earlier, before he left the couple's home to travel to Easley.
A spokesman for the Charleston County Sheriff's Office said deputies and members of the CUE Center for Missing Persons will search an area Saturday near Freeman Bridge Road in Easley.
"The location being searched has been an area under consideration and one that we wanted to be able to eliminate, and the opportunity to work with the CUE Center presented itself," Maj. Jim Brady of the sheriff's office said in a news release.
"As noted, the search is part of the ongoing investigation of the disappearance of Gayle McCaffrey and is not based on new information in the case," Brady said.
