Police: Missing woman found safe on Charleston peninsula

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- A Charleston woman who was declared missing overnight was found safe in the Wagener Terrace neighborhood of downtown Charleston.

A spokesperson for the Charleston Police Department says Patricia "Pat" Hinkson was found safe overnight and reunited with her family.

According to police, a neighbor on nearby Devereaux Street spotted Hinkson, recognized her from a report on the news and called police.

Police and family members frantically searched for the missing woman after she walked away from her home. She was last seen wearing powder blue pajamas and tan or black loafers.

Officials say Yvonne Small discovered her sister was missing from a home on Ashley Avenue around midnight on Monday.
