NCPD arrest 2 men for 2 separate armed robberies, 1 of them for 3

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- North Charleston police arrested two suspects for an armed robbery that happened on North Rhett Monday morning and then turned the men over to Charleston police for another robbery.According to NCPD officials, officers responded to the Kangaroo at 5154 N. Rhett around 10 a.m. Monday in reference to a{} robbery. The{}clerk told them she was on the phone when she heard a voice saying, "Give me the money." She said she looked up and saw a white male with a dark shirt covering his head and face at the counter. She said she saw a second white man holding the door open and he also had a shirt covering his head and face.{} The clerk told police she gave him the money before both men fled the store{} in the direction of Sherwood.Neither suspect presented a weapon or said that they were armed but the police report claims one of the suspects "had one of his hands in his pants pockets making gestures as if to suggest he had some type of weaponry." On Tuesday, NCPD officials said they arrested the two suspects and found that they were also responsible for the robbery that happened on May 25 at the Amflag Service Station.The report also states that 21-year-old Jeffery James Kirk was found with a butterfly knife in his pocket and two $2 bills in his possession that had been reported stolen from the Kangaroo incident.Kirk and 18-year-old David Craig Zeigel are both charged with armed robbery in both cases. Kirk is also charged with two counts of possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime.Charleston police then announced that Kirk is also charged with the armed robbery that happened Monday at the Savannah Hwy Exxon. Another suspect, 16-year-old Caylin Giglio is also charged in that incident.CPD responded to Russell's Exxon at 2209 Savannah Highway about 1 p.m. May 25 for reports of an armed robbery. Witnesses said a man armed with a handgun demanded money from the clerk while a second suspect stood by the door.
