Second man arrested in St. Helena shooting, robbery

ST. HELENA ISLAND, S.C. (WCIV) -- A second man has been arrested in a St. Helena Island armed robbery and shooting that happened late Friday night.

According to Beaufort County Sheriff's Office officials, 22-year-old Byron Rasheem Moultrie was arrested in Beaufort Tuesday evening. He was wanted on charged of attempted murder, discharging a firearm in a dwelling and possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime.

Deputies say Moultrie's cohort, 18-year-old A-Tray Holmes, was arrested after he was treated for a gunshot wound he sustained during the failed robbery attempt.

Deputies say Moultrie and Holmes went to a man's home with the intention of robbing him. Once they get into the man's home, Moultrie fired shots and the victim returned fire.

Deputies believe Holmes was shot as he fled the home.
